#iPPP: Vacation

We traveled to Gatlingburg to visit Russ' dad and step-mom this weekend.  It was by far the most interesting trip we've taken with our toddler yet!

Sitting on the deck enjoying the mountain air.
It was also the first time we've ever had Roxy at the emergency room.

Waiting her turn at the emergency room.
Saturday morning Roxy refused to stand up or walk.  Everytime we put her down, she'd fall to her knees and cry.

Waving at the camera and waiting for tests.
A quick call to our pediatrician and we were headed to the hospital to find out if Roxy indeed had the infection feared by the pediatrician.

After 6 hours of waiting and a battery of x-rays, blood work and an ultra sound, we found out that she had transient synovitis.

Transient synovitis is an infection of the lining of the hip joint that is common in children and is usually found to occur post infection of the upper respiratory system.  Roxy had bronchitis the week before so it made sense.

We did manage to enjoy our vacation even if we had to carry Roxy from place to place for the remainder of Saturday, Sunday and part of Monday.

Whining because she can't stand up.

Sound asleep, finally.

I'm happy to report that she's back on her feet now and is running full speed ahead!

I'm linking up today with Liz and KLZ for iPhone Photo Phun (#iPPP)!
