Girls' Night Out!

My last girls' night out?  Pretty tame.  There were four of us and we headed to the local Movie Tavern for dinner and a movie.  It had been a couple months since Jenn and I had been out, years since Michelle and I had hung out, and I met Jessi for the first time.

Our chosen movie was Something Borrowed.  It was good.  We did the bad thing and talked throughout the movie.  Quietly, of course!  We imbibed lots of soda and I ate the whole pizza they brought me!

After being a little disappointed in the movie's ending, we parted ways.  Jenn and I made a stop by Krispy Kreme and bought donuts.  A real treat since neither of us are usually anywhere close to a Krispy Kreme.

We ended our night by a late night trip to Wal-Mart.  As we walked in, we couldn't help but laugh at ourselves as we got our carts and lamented about not having our coupons with us.  When did it happen?  When did we grow up?  Since when do we worry about carts and coupons and what's on sale?

I think it was about the time that Jenn got married and I bought my house.  A year later, I was married and three months later, Roxy made her arrival.

Now we find it hard to schedule a night between us because of her schedule, my schedule, a sick baby, and Roxy's schedule.  We still manage to get out at least every couple of months, but that doesn't mean that I don't still miss the times we used to have.

This post was written in response to Mama Kat's Writer's Workshop.  I chose 1.) Girls Night Out! Describe the last time you got to hang out with your friends? What stops you from doing this more often?

  1. A night at the movies with friends and pizza sounds like a great girls' night out! Sometimes just a couple of hours away from home can do wonders for my sanity!

  2. When DID we grow up? It happened so suddenly I think I missed it! My friends and I get very nostalgic about "the good old days," but now we're doing our best to build new "best" memories with our kids. Sometimes it'd hard to juggle everything and keep in touch as much as we'd like to.
