Current Obsession

For some reason, I realized during vacation that Roxy is going to be outgrowing her crib at some point this year.  Our goal was to wait until she turned two to transfer to a toddler bed which is still feasible, but less than six months away.  Mommy will be planning a second birthday party and a fiftieth birthday party within 20 days of each other in September, 2011, so I'm trying to get ahead of the game a bit!

For Roxy's second birthday, we are going to redecorate her room with her new bed.  I think we are going to skip the toddler bed and go straight to a twin bed with those nifty rails to keep the little ones in.

So, back to the meat and potatoes of this post, I am trying to figure out what we want to redecorate into.  I want to keep Roxy's room painted the way it is (I would love to replace the carpet, but don't think its going to happen anytime soon) - pink on top and green on bottom with a white chair rail.  I also want to continue using the white letters spelling Roxy and the white shelving we have in the room.

After looking and looking, this bed set just keeps drawing my attention again and again.  I love it:

I still haven't pinpointed a reason why it draws me.  I thought we'd continue the princess theme a bit more, but maybe not?

If we do decide to go ahead and settle with this bed set, I plan on using some alphabet stickers on the walls.  I was even thinking that maybe I could hand make some of the wallhangings.

I can already tell, this is going to be a fun transformation for me to execute.  I just hope that Princess Roxy likes it as much as I do when its finished!

  1. This is a beautiful bed =) I really like white beds in general...they just go with almost everything and have more of a elegant look to them. Very good choice for a girl's room =)

  2. I like the bed, very cute. I always lean towards the alphabet. Its cute and they were doing a bunch of stuff at Pottery Barn Kids that I loved.

I love the name Roxy too. So sassy and cute!
