So, at a recent doctor's appointment we were informed we needed to let Roxy start eating all table foods. We didn't have much luck with that tonight, but she decided she wanted to feed herself. See what a good job she did:
On the upside, while we were at the doctor's appointment (it was Roxy's 12 month checkup at the NICU Grad Clinic), we were informed that she was perfect. She was average on her physical and cognitive tests and above average on the speech and comprehension tests. They actually said that she was at the 18 months/2 year level with her speech and comprehension. She was 20 pounds, 11 ounces, and 30.25 inches tall. Her height and head circumference were in the 50th percentile and her weight is in the 20th (they want her to stay here because preemie tend to have high blood pressure/diabetic issues). The only things we have to do is go back for a 24 month checkup next September and then we have to have an MRI done of her head to make sure that there is no scar tissue from her Grade I Intraventricular Hemorrhage. The ultrasound we previously had done was wonderful and showed little or no sign of scarring so we look for favorable results from the MRI.
