Our little one has been playing catch up from the day she born, more than six months ago. After we received a little discouraging news from the NICU Grad Clinic, I couldn't imagine what the pediatrician was going to say. Lo and behold, the pediatrician contradicted just about everything that we were told at the Grad Clinic. So now we have a new dilemma... Do we listen to the pediatrician or the Grad Clinic? I think we are going to go with the pediatrician.
At yesterday's appointment, Roxy weighed in at 13 pounds, 13 ounces. She is still 24 inches long. She got her 6 month shot and will be going back for her last round of Synagis.
As for contradictory points of view, according to the pediatrician, we can:
- Have an exersaucer, walker, jumper, etc. as long as it is used in moderation. 10-20 minutes per day.
- Give Roxy cereal. Not all the time yet, but we can start giving it to her like we had been.
The pediatrician did say that we needed to give Roxy more tummy time and help her learn to roll over.
I did find out that the little one did have a brain bleed as the NICU Grad Clinic mentioned. However, it was a Level I and should not affect her development. I am still [im]patiently waiting for the Clinic to get off their butts and schedule the head ultrasound. *I am so proud of myself for requesting those medical records when we brought her home.*
On to other exciting news... Grandmomma, Mommy, Roxy and Aunt Faye are headed to Lexington on Saturday to shop for Roxy an Easter dress. And Mommy gets to get Roxy some new clothes in a bigger size (Daddy's paying!). Our little girl is growing!!
